Abalone Shell for Smudging

Imported from the United States, these clam shells are not easily broken and can be used as containers when burning sage or holy wood.

Traditionally, purification requires the gathering of the four elements: wind, fire, water, and earth. The abalone shell comes from the ocean, representing the water element. The exhaust vents on the shell help with ventilation and combustion, allowing herbs to burn for a longer period of time. The shell can be used to burn various types of sage, palo santo, or charcoal tablets.
