Chulucanas is a province in northern Peru known for its pottery production. The distinctive feature of Chulucanas ceramics is the ancient technique that combines hand molding and palette brush strokes, along with hand-painted negative film using natural pigments and an oxidation-reduction process, and firing at high temperatures with mango leaves. Chulucanas ceramics are known for their black base, oval shape, and geometric designs.
